The Oberderdingen-based household appliance supplier E.G.O.-Group (E.G.O.), together with the new Managing Director Dr. Clemens Philippson, emphasizes the importance of innovation and sales for global business development.
Oberderdingen – The household appliance supplier E.G.O. starts 2023 at the top of the company with strengthened market expertise: In January, Dr. Clemens Philippson will take over the newly created position of Chief Sales and Technology Officer (CSTO). He holds a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering and brings 20 years of experience in the household appliance industry to Oberderdingen in Baden. After 16 years in various technical and market-oriented management positions at BSH (Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH) in Germany and abroad, the 52-year-old most recently worked as the Managing Director at Liebherr Hausgeräte for four years. Dr. Philippson, together with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Karlheinz Hörsting, form the new management duo of E.G.O. after the former COO Thomas Kohlbauer left the company group of his own volition.
Bernd Eckl, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the E.G.O.-Group, on the appointment of the new Managing Director: “Dr. Philippson has excellent prerequisites for further strengthening business performance at E.G.O. He will set new standards thanks to his many years of experience in the household appliance industry. We are delighted to have gained a highly distinguished manager who can provide new impetus, especially in the essential innovation division.”
E.G.O.-CEO Dr. Hörsting is also looking forward to the collaboration: “With Dr. Philippson, the management of the E.G.O.-Group is again perfectly positioned. With his management know-how and experience as a leader in the global environment, he covers the market side with innovation, development, product management, and sales. In addition to my tasks as the CEO, in the future I will be responsible for Operations, for which I was responsible at E.G.O. for many years.”
In his own words, the new Chief Sales and Technology Officer sees great potential in his new employer. “Anyone who has worked in the household appliance industry for many years is familiar with E.G.O. and its position as a leader, especially in the heating segment for electric and gas cooking. Expanding this position further and advancing E.G.O. with useful innovations is a task that is very appealing to me,” says Dr. Philippson.
